WCIII Question

I was playing WCIII for the first time today after reinstalling it last night. I got a call from my friends who also just started playing. Well he says he logs in and it says that someone (me) us currently using his cd-key.

Over the summer, we were trying to play a lan with both of my computers and I'm pretty sure he installed a copy on my laptop. Is it possible for the cd-key to be saved into the registry even if I unistall. I guess another possibility is that we accidentally switched cds.

Any help?

The key is stored in your registry and isn't removed on uninstall. You will have to find and change the registry key to fix it.

? uninstall and reinstall has always let me change my CD key.. you can also get CDKey changer programs but chances are you can get your CD key stolen that way.

I uninstalled it a long time ago. When I install it, it asks for my Cd-keys, so I'm guessing it's storing those in the registry?
