WCG HCC GPU WUs restart, after being paused?

I noticed something on my main rig (G630, GT430, 4GB DDR3, 120GB SSD), while running WCG.

I have it set to pause GPU WUs, unless there has been 3 minutes of inactivity.

I noticed that after I move the mouse, use the system (WU goes on pause), then stop using the system, the WU starts over at 1%.

I have "Leave applications in memory while suspended" checked under Preferences.

I also set checkpointing, to 600 seconds, rather than 60.

I thought Checkpointing only took effect, if BOINC crashed, or was shut down in any way, and had to be restarted.

I didn't think that apps depended on checkpointing, just to resume from a paused state.

Is this something specific to WCG HCC WUs, or GPU WUs in general, or BOINC in general?

I noticed that too. From what I've seen, only HCC GPU tasks restarts from beginning. CPU task resume at checkpoint.

Unfortunately the GPU checkpointing is rather non-existent. So it has to be processed completely thats why your WUs restart because the checkpointing is not there. Hope that solves your question. And also the WCCs GPU WU do not follow BOINC instructions
