Dear members of AnandTech,

the 16th of November 2011 marks the 7th birthday of World Community Grid.

This day takes SETI.Germany as an opportunity to support the project for 7 days with full power and therefore calls for the 7th Birthday Challenge.

We cordially welcome you and your team to join the challenge.
More information and statistics regarding the challenge can be found here.

This years birthday present is a possibility to create detailed WCG user-statistics.
We hope that many members participate in this challenge and would be very happy to see yours teams registration.

Hm.

/me looks at dates.

/me looks at my sig.

I think I'll be busy.

I don't want to downplay the importance of any project but perhaps this WCG challenge is what we need to take the lead in Correlizer? 😉

Now I'm torn, between PrimeGrid and Correlizer, I have no idea where I'm going to bork enough horsepower to crunch all three projects.

If there is a team competition (a la PrimeGrid in a few weeks), I'll be there. Otherwise I want to get to 1 million in PrimeGrid before December.

:\ Hello TeAm AnandTech,

I hope some People in our Team have Time and like a little Race by WCG . I think we many Fun together by this Challenge, so please some People Start for your Team by this Event, the 7. Birthday Challenge by WCG.

Many Greatings [2W]SEARCHER

So, the correlizer race against [SG] ends right when the proposed WCG against those same fine would begin?

Seems like a great opportunity for a rematch, whatever the eventual result of the currently bout.

I actually came in here hoping to find out if WCG utilizes GPU power...

I've never taken part of a race before, but I've been running WCG for a few months now. Do I just continue crunching for our team to help us in this race?

Pretty much, and to add whatever machines you can "legally" get a hold of, for as long as you can during the race.

Just as I am pulling up a good RAC in MalariaControl - so...

What's a good account manager? How do I use one? Logging into all the crunchers to make changes is tedious...

Thanks 🙂

Bam! is what I will be using. It is at the top of the list... 😛

I guess this means that I'll be doing WCG, too... Malaria is an option there as well.
