Here are figures from the last UTC day wrap:

TeamsDay 1Day 2Day 3Day 4Day 5Day 6Day 7Total
Planet 3DNow! and SETI.Germany lumped together, whether they like it or not74,579,95639,076,83440,170,94541,055,579194,883,314
TeAm AnandTech74,157,77538,101,66936,796,80736,978,641186,034,892

Right now we reached 192 M, while P3D and SG add up to 201 M (5 % ahead). Ours as well as SETI.Germany's PPD stagnated, while Planet 3DNow! managed to improve their daily figures from Wednesday to Thursday to Friday. (And I am not surprised. They are famous for activating their members and for unexpected finds of still unused computers…) My guess is this trend will hold through Saturday and Sunday, so I think I am giving this idea a rest for now. I'll be curious about Day 7 = Monday though, because TeAm AnandTech used to be strong on Day 7 of the previous WCG Birthday challenges.

So we need to each find 6+% more if I have read this correct. Some quick calculations on my meager contribution and some reallocation of resources will net a 12.27% increase here.
I'm giving her all she's got, Jim.

I can't add anything anymore today or tomorrow, but I will see what I still can do on Monday.

I'll be honest that I didn't really want to participate in the WCG challenge, both because you didn't need my meager help at all, and also because I'm working on a new small project, which is my first "love" in distributed computing.

But since this extra challenge was made and actually does need help, I'll move my tiny bit of computing power over to MCM for the next couple of days, just so I can say that I did. ;)

Well the competition wasn't really there this year. Not sure what happened to P3D since the Pentathlon so I turned off almost all my stuff. Testing others for the upcoming PrimeGrid challenge.

I'm adding an old generation or 2 or three (3) laptop core (1) every day or two at this pace. Though after today the pace is a brick wall?!! ;(

Edit:. I'll admit I have two young cores, though because lack of ownership (wif), I'm not allowed to touch. For some previous fail on my part? ;) Haha!

I hope you will do some real damage in the PrimeGrid challenge, because I for one won't be able to, with my GPUs now somewhat behind the latest and greatest. Instead I'll try to substitute for you here at WCG, on Monday.

I don't remember these huge negative jumps in the stats at 00:00 UTC from previous years. Has it always been this way? (I'm not normally up at 1 AM local time.) I wonder what will happen at the final turn from 23:39 to 00:00 UTC tomorrow.

Edit: Ah, got it. The negative jump is just due to an entire day worth of points missing temporarily, due to some idiosyncrasy of the stats transfer. I sure hope that day 7 won't be missing from the final scores. :-)

Yes, they happened like this during the Pentathlon also. I can't remember if the last Birthday Challenge happened also, but I think they did. I also think SG had to go in and correct the last day because it ended with negatives. But only on their site. The actual WCG site the stats will be correct and that's what SG will copy.

Less than 18 hours are left. I am daring to revisit the question whether or not we might be able to match what the next two teams, Planet 3DNow! and SETI.Germany, are dishing out in combination.

TeamsDay 1Day 2Day 3Day 4Day 5Day 6Day 7 (25%)Total
Planet 3DNow!'s and SETI.Germany's points poured into a single bucket, and well stirred74,579,95639,076,83440,170,94541,055,57946,699,27645,974,98310,134,658297,692,231
TeAm AnandTech74,157,77538,101,66936,796,80736,978,64132,561,19136,461,88116,883,587271,941,551

The gap had widened a lot since I last reported (-32.5 M at the end of day 6). But day 7 started quite well for us (-25.8 M now); we shall see how the remaining hours go. I expect SETI.Germany to have one or another bunker left to be opened in the very last hour, and who knows what Planet 3DNow! kept in reserve.

Edit: 12:00 UTC stats
TeamsDay 1Day 2Day 3Day 4Day 5Day 6Day 7 (50%)Total

With 6 hours to go, they are either bunkering or giving up.
They are too busy with each other to even take notice. :-)

18:00 UTC stats:

TeamsDay 1Day 2Day 3Day 4Day 5Day 6Day 7 (75%)Total
TeAm AnandTech74,157,77538,101,66936,796,80736,978,64132,561,19136,461,88182,092,931337,150,895
points from Planet 3DNow! and SETI.Germany, after excessive partying, last seen wandering off upstairs together¹74,579,95639,076,83440,170,94541,055,57946,699,27645,974,98344,191,180331,748,753

P3D and SG's points need to get their hormones in check and try to continue the fight against TeAm Anandtech :p

When we started this race, I wasn't even sure we'd beat P3D straight up considering what the showing they had at the Pentathlon this year.

Now here we are. With points not only greater than P3D, but P3D and SG combined. Just wow.

Simply put. This team is amazing.

PS
Guess all those previous years of two or three teams VS us has paid off. ;)

Well, whether we will really match P3D+SG… let the chickens hatch before the definite headcount. :-)
I agree with all your other points. :-D

Yes, if we can hold it until the end of the race then that'll be even more amazing. But, the fact that we have a few hours left and we are where we are is still a pretty darn good feat. Definitely not what I expected a week ago when we first started preparing for it.
