[wccftech] nVidia Previewed Unreleased Graphics Card

With such a huge gap between the 960 and 970 both price and performance wise I wonder if it's a further cut down GM204 labeled as the 960 Ti. Or maybe it's just a dual Titan X card to compete with AMD's upcoming dual Fury X card.

When I first saw this, I thought maybe they were talking about GP100. But I think the dual Titan X is right.

Was this at the same briefing as the not-desktop 980? It could be a different mobile part too.

I think its competition for full Tonga.

ive noticed gtx960 4gb prices under 200$ and 2gb at 160$ and been falling for weeks. It mabe time for a cut down 970. They still need a card for the 200 to 300$ market.

I'm hoping for something to fill the outlandish gap between the 960 and 970. Maybe a desktop version of a 970m? It has 25% more shaders and 50% more ROPs than the 960.

Titan X destroyed Titan Z... A dual one will be a energy beast... Like Fury X2...
Screw this! I'll use both together with DX12 muahahaha.
Also.. This is the goodbye to:
- 28 nm, unless VIA launchs S3 there
- GDDR5 Nuff said... Unless VIA again...
- HBM1

Then it should be really easy for you to show us an air-cooled card with the same form factor that matches its performance.

Go right ahead, we'll be waiting.

You sure did. Try opening your eyes when you read reviews.

I think he meant its way overpriced. The card itself is ok ,but what moron will buy it at 600+$ .

Exactly what Happy said. The card is great, the price is terrible. The only people that should be considering this card are those who absolutely must go with a smaller card and do not care about about overclocking potential. People on 1080p 60/144hz monitors have very little incentive to get this card over a GTX 980 when factoring in both price and overclocking capabilities. At 1440p it's still a very hard sell, even against the same GTX 980. At 4k, it's just as much a difficult sell against Fury X, let alone the 980 TI with it's noticeably much better performance and more VRAM.

The card and tech is great, but the price is not. I doubt many will be sold at the $649 price point. As much as I'd love to see this form factor fully embraced in high performing parts, Nvidia's counter with the GTX 980 for mobile was smart. It will probably sell more units and make a higher profit margin than the Fury Nano.

After the epic disaster called Titan Z, Nvidia is surely aiming for a comeback in the ultra-premium dual-GPU space.

I think they should produce a successor to the 750ti, with a full GM206 downclocked like the Nano to fit in a 75W TDP. They could call it the "GTX 960se".

It's a trickle down effect. In graphics if you dominate at the top you also increase market share in the middle and bottom.

They dont need 3 cards above 650USD
980TI,TITANX,Dual GM200

bellow 400 they have slow GTX960,cripled GTX970 and thats all

Wow. Your way or the highway eh? Look, Nano is ok. But it's priced out of the park. I think that's what folks here are alluding to and what you're peeking around without seeing it.
