I wonder what happened with 860K's L2 cache. Looks like they cut it in half per module, could it be yield issues?

I have been under the impression Richland quad cores (with 4MB cache) are about as good as Kaveri quad cores (with 4MB cache) due to higher clockspeed negating most if not all of Kaveri's higher IPC.

But with this reduced cache on 860K where will that leave it in relation to 750K (Trinity) and 760K (Richland)?

The report of reduced L2 for the 860K seems a little weird. None of the failed Trinity/Richland parts rebadged for sale as iGPU-less chips had reduced L2. Why would that be the case for failed Kaveri parts? Or have they produced these on their own wafer without a failed iGPU?

the single module FM2 CPUs all had only half of the l2 (1/4 total) per module, it's the same thing but for 2 modules this time... it will be interesting to compare with the 760K...

These look almost like failed Carrizo parts 😛 (deactivated iGPU)
