The thermals are fine inside my Corsair 650. Stock config, haven't added or replaced any fans. In gaming I don't see it heat up past 80C on auto fan.

I could definitely see 2 cards being a problem though without placement of additional fans to deal with all the heat. Side panel exhaust fans would probably work well. That said, 4 7970s would give you problems as well - at least the ones that don't exhaust out the rear of the case.

Well done and tidy. These couple of cases where reviewers are having issues could be for other reasons. Possibly even self induced. Just because they are reviewers doesn't mean they are competent and can remove and reinstall a heatsink (or 2 in the case of the 7990) without frigging it up. I've been far too accepting lately of what I'm reading on the web. ;)

Looks clean. I wish my case looked like that :)

I have 9 case fans, so I have wires all over the place.. But man, do they keep my system cool and surprisingly, dust free due to the positive pressure design.

I'm very interested in that positive pressure. I have to look it up someday when I get time.

Anyway thread appears to be an attempt to borderline troll but everyone agrees and agreed at launch that wtf was amd thinking with the price on this card. I can't imagine it sells well at $1k. That's the first red flag. We'll see about crossfire fixes this month but selling this for months with no driver fix other than radeonpro is pretty weak too.

They shouldn't have released this card at all tbh if they couldn't do it the first time around. All that engineering resources to release a card that is shortlived for ~4months given AMDs financials..

I dont even understand why they needed the 7990 in the first place (since dual 7950/7970s perform just as well at a cheaper price). Should just have focused more on releasing their next generation of video cards.

First off the EOL has been denied by AMD. So, going on as if this rumor is accurate doesn't make sense. As far as why? It's because it gives them the fastest single card crown. No other reason.

GTX690 is a failure due to 2GB of VRAM on a $1,000 card!
HD7990 is a failure due to CF inconsistency and being much more power hungry than 690.

Toms looking into these a while ago and concluded they have serious problems cooling the card: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-7990-crossfire-overheat,3539.html

More importantly in that same article they asked the boutique system builders who would sell systems with these in what they thought and most won't touch them due to lack of demand, bad drivers, bad cooling and warping of the card causing the fans to rub and make a terrible noise. These cards are not one of AMD's finest moments.

They also said that sales of these dual cards (690 as well as 7990) dropped to near nothing when titan appeared.
