Anybody knows why?? I uninstalled the drivers and cleaned the registry and installrf catalyst 2.5 on it. The game will run fine until 20 mins or 30 (Totally random times) into the game, the whole monitor just freeze. When I try clicking multiple timeson the mouse, the case speaker will just give a beep and that's it?!?! This only happen in Wc3 and other games work fine. I'm going crazy here. :( Help. :(

It could be an add on card that's causing the problem.
First try reinstalling drivers, if that doesn't work try without soundcard/network card or whatever else you have in there that's not essential.

I think I found the problem. The GPU was hot to touch. VERy hot indeed. I'll try lowering the clock till 275. :)

Same thing happened to me in MOHAA overclocked to 300/300, backed it off to 275/275, and no lockups...

You should have blamed it on ATI's driver's....LOL

I'm an engineer. I sort out problems and reasoning is what I do. :D ATI drivers are almost as good as Nvidia's. :)

So you are overclocking your r8500 and you are surprised it freezes up on you. I have 8500Le at 285/295. That is the highest I could get it with out screwing up. If clocking down your vid card doesnt help then try putting your cpu back at defaults.

Yes, I'm surprised when Serious Sam is not freezing on me but wc3 is. I think that Serious Sam taxes the GPU more than wc3. I looped 3dmark2k1 for hours without problems too.

As an engineer you should know that running anything outside of its operating parametres is random at best in terms of the reaction you'll get.

Heck, that's the most basic principle of overclocking and the first thing anyone should learn before they even touch the hardware.
