Hi all,
I have an ATCS 840, with a triple 120 radiator mounted on the top. The radiator has 3 120mm's moving air OUT of the case (exhausting up).
In addition, there's the normal rear top exhaust fan, and also 1 big (230mm) front intake, and one 120mm intake on the bottom of the case.
I was originally torn between bringing in air from outside into the case over the radiator vs. exhausting the air from the case out over the radiator. I did some research, but didn't find too much information on this. I appeared, to me, that some people go one way, while others go the other. I chose exhausting over the radiator because : (1) I didn't want to filter all my fans to stop dust getting in the case, and (2) I was just not too crazy about blowing hot hair into the case. I'm guessing it doesn't make that much of a difference (please feel free to correct/educate me on this topic).
Thinking about it, I figured I don't have hot CPU air blowing that needed to be exhausted anymore, and with so many exhausts, I'm starting to cruise into the negative air pressure realm (not what I'd prefer). So I thought, what if I reverse the rear exhaust to try and pull some more fresh air to feed the radiator? This would give me more cold air, and also help take away some of the negative pressure.
My only concern (apart from the obvious one that what I'm thinking makes no sense), is that I may be sucking in some warmer air being fed out by my PSU.
Anyone else gone this route, or have any input on whether (a) air going in vs out of the case over radiators makes a big difference, or (b) the rear exhaust being reversed is good/bad, in my case?
Thanks for your opinions.
