studio released the DVD "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" in China on the same day it debuted in U.S. theaters

well it will prevent the cammy versions from showing up on line :Q

LIke the link stated, releasing this film and the dvds at the same time are not the same as say doing doing it for EP III. I think the results from this "test" won't be accurate.

They don't pirate DVD's in China (as well as in Eastern Europe) because they want to see the newly released movie right away. They do it because over 90% of population there can not afford licensed copies.

Makes no difference. Most chinese would never pay for the full retail price of a DVD no matter what.

girl who lived next tome last yr went to china and got about 20 working DVDs of movies that werent out yet for about $1
