I'm working on a video that contains about 2.5 hours of footage. The footage consists of abour 30 videos, both in .wmv and .mov file formats. Im noticing the horrible frame-rates I'm getting in the editor (Sony Vegas), and its almost unworkable.
My question:
1. Is there a way to trick the editor? Perhaps to take ALL the video, strand it together, and render just that. Once it completes, take that 1 long video, and then cut it up again in the editor? To... perhaps make the computer not have to search through all the 30 videos currently just to find one 5 second part?
2. Would it be better to work in sections? This video I'm making is only going to be 2 minutes long but requires a little bit of footage from each video.. so perhaps 20 second sections?
I have a 4200X2 processor, 7900GTX Video Card, and 2Gig's of ram.. I cannot aford any sort of 1000+ PC editing card...
