^ lol in that case, can we get the IP or urls to add into hosts instead of downloading an executing third party programs?

That stuff doesn't bother me, privacy is really just an illusion anyway. But after reading about OSX el Capitan, I'll probably switch to Windows 10. OSX just isn't doing it for me anymore and I need a good search feature.

I've tried many times to go to Linux but I just can't stand it.

ketchup, I am using http://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10 along with TinyWall firewall. Tiny wall enables just a very few internet services by default - you will have to add your primary browser and email program, along with any anti-malware/virus programs you might be running so they can update and function properly.

O&O's ShutUp is a neat tool with all changes being user selected and fully reversible. And this is from a trusted Microsoft partner - that should tell those that pooh-pooh on your efforts at least something. And hopefully it will tell Microsoft their change in philosophy is NOT appreciated.

Thank you. I am going to give this a try later this week.

Added Task Scheduler.

-Task Scheduler. Here are some tasks that should be disabled, as their only purpose is feedback to Microsoft. From Task Scheduler, go to Task Scheduler Library\Microsoft\Windows. Right click tasks in these categories and select off.

1. Application Experience
2. Autochk
3. Customer Experience Improvement Program

My hosts file:

# Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost

Apparently host file editing won't work. You have to do it in a firewall hardware or router.

That hosts file was an incomplete copy but I decided it didn't matter as it doesn't stop the spying anyway. Microsoft is too sneaky.
