Ways to fem up a droid?

Really odd post perhaps, but my wife is getting a droid in the mail today and I know she'll find the experience a little.. Butch.. Is there any skin app (you know, like windows blinds) so that she can change her theme to Hello Kitty, or whatever the hell is fem and popular these days?

just go on the app market and search for hello kitty (or whatever) there is an app for everything

i'm not 100% sure on themes, some IIRC are stand alone and some might require a loader, ive never installed one i just know they are out there

Thanks for the info - I'll update this post about loaders, etc. once I get the phone (in case people are interested).

In my quick bit of research downloading a hello kitty theme, they recommend Panda home. Some of the screenshots are truly god awful. (meaning a woman would LOVE it)

You can't make a Robot fem.

Unless they look like fembot women.

There are after-market launchers that include skinning ability. For her, that might be enough.
If once she gets it and desires more of the OS is themed, then the only option will be rooting the phone. Most of the visible OS cannot be themed unless the OS has been rooted (think Linux.. apps can have root access if you permit them). A great theming utility is MetaMorph, but that requires Root.

But launchers/Home replacements (which consist of the home screens and the app-slider screen), offer a lot of skinning capability for the immediately visible portions. Also, a simple background can go a long way for some people, so a nice pink or light-colored background image could do the trick as well.
One Home-replacement that is easy to use (like the default Home/Launcher) that I'd suggest is GDE. I had a lot of success with that one.

How fem?

Icons and what not or everything?

Possibly between BetterCut (change the icons) and Beautiful Widgets (there was pink girly skin for the clock, I'll do screenshots when I get home if I get a chance), you might be able to feminize it enough and, with those two apps, she can probably customize things herself.

Thanks guys! Looking into all the options recommended. I think a fem home screen would be enough. I forgot what I used on her old iphone.. Winter something? That was pretty flexible. Anything similar?

As far as rooting - I suppose I should just do that, does the one click GUI rooter have any limitations? I'm sub-n00b when it comes to linux, and don't want to crash her new phone!

search the market for Ahome. TONS of girly themes. It slows down the system a bit but it shouldn't be that big of a deal for her.

Or just download a Care Bears background and the Golden Girls theme for her ringtone

for backgrounds i recommend getting the Nat Geo wallpaper ap, it literally pulls them from everywhere and there is a girly section as well as hello kitty, animals, cute,... and all that

Lol Android is a very manly OS. I don't know many women who use it. The ones who do are running it stock (and IMO don't deserve Android... after all they just want to text/facebook/twitter). The most basic mods like using the HTC keyboard instead of stock Android impressed them. Don't even bother talking about root, unlocked bootloader, custom ROMs.

I got my girlfriend the pink Seidio case for hers. That's good enough for her.. lol

Android has pretty good social net integration while remaining powerful. I think it can be a platform to suit everyone, especially once manufacturers start dumbing it down with skins.

hey guys,

I tried Pandahome (liked), and GDE (loved) but all of the skins we saw made the nice, clean home feel kinda cheap. In the end, a wallpaper and default home worked great.
