I knew he was having complications, I think they amputated his foot not too long ago.
Or that may have been somebody else but I think it was him.

The other thread was better. In addition to providing a link to information about Waylon's death, it contained this interesting item:

An eerie true story: in 1959, Waylon was scheduled to fly on the plane that crashed and killed music greats Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. Richardson, "The Big Bopper." Waylon generously gave up his seat on the plane to The Big Bopper, who wanted to fly rather than travel by bus because he had been feeling ill.

I'll sure miss Waylon Jennings. I especially liked the "Highwaymen" albums with Waylon, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and Kris Kristofferson. Country music doesn't get any better than that.

The link I provided had the same information and with most people who know anything about music or music history, it is general knowledge.

Another classic gone...

To quote a George Jones song: "Whose gonna fill their shoes?"

These hipster city boys that call themselves country now sure won't.

I'm sorry to hear it - he was a good old boy that has had some hard times over the last few years... may he rest in peace...

If you cant recall one of his songs of the top of your head, he did the theme song for "The Dukes of Hazzard"

Jus' some good ol' boys
never meanin no harm
beats all you never saw
been in trouble with the law
since the day they was born.

I just got home and read this............:(:( I too knew he was pretty bad off but I didn't think he was that bad................He had a lot of problems throughout his life, but his "old style" country music was some of the best of it's type!

I agree......................

"Who's gonna' fill their shoes..................":(
R.I.P. to one of the original "Outlaws Of Country Music"...............

Put Another Log On The Fire

Put another log on the fire
Cook me up some bacon and some beans,
Go out to the car and change the tires,
Wash my socks and sew my old blue jeans;
Fill my pipe and then go fetch my slippers,
And boil me up another pot of tea.
Then put another log on the fire, babe
And come and tell me why you're leaving me.

Well, don't I let you wash the car on Sunday?
And don't I warn you when you're getting fat?
And ain't I gonna take you fishin' someday?
Well, a man can't love a woman more than that.
And ain't I always nice to your kid sister?
Well don't I take her drivin' every night?
So sit there at my feet 'cause I like you when you're sweet
And you know that it's not feminine to fight...
