I've seen crap beer here in restaurants for around $4 but I don't know of any place that you can get anything for much less than that. Course I'm still talking 5% beer. We don't like no American 2% stuff

Actually some to think of it I think it IS cheaper if you buy a 6 back at a government liquor store.

i only drink beer by the pitcher, typically. even if it's a 'small' pitcher, 12-14 bucks or so for 4-5 or more full glasses of beer is better than ~6 a piece.

ironically lower alcohol is usually not cheaper. i mean, places might have 'PBR night' or something with cheap beer, but in general a bud light costs about as much as anything else. i get blue moon or shock top a lot since (besides liking wheat beer) it has a 'domestic' price tag.

Eh? I've had nothing but great success bringing over a bottle of wine to girls' places...

I haven't read all 5 pages so far of this thread, but I have to agree with the above. Chicks dig wine, so as a guy it makes good very sense to become familiar with it and at least pretend an appreciation for it.
