Both ATItuner and Rivatuner do not work with vista 64 well. ATI not at all and Riva has to use the boot without signed drivers, which, you dont want to be playing games with that boot. I also Oc'd my 8800 gtx to 620 and gained 600 points in 3dmark, but NOW, cause neither work in normal boot, I have no idea what My video card temps are or IF IT IS OC'd in a normal boot. help me out please.

Well, I used Ntune, But its Oc seems a bit unstable, as in, it will not keep a constant OC, keeps going back to stock every few minutes or so. Also, it will not detect the fan on the video card, nor will it detect just about anything but the GPU itself. I can not use the latest drivers from nvidia becuase I am using the Sharp 32in 1080p as a monitor (love it) and the resize option in that causes a blue screen. So, I am on 158ish or something forceware, whatever came on the disk. The OC did give me about 30 more 3dmarks score over the original OC. soo, I am at about 12698 now.

The reason your OC may seem to 'reset itself to stock' is that it is just returning to 2d clocks, when you fire up a 3D app it should return to the OC'd frequency's you had set previously. Are you using Rivatuner 2.05? I thought I read recently that Techpowerup signed Riva's drivers so it should be fine with Vista 64.

well, here is a qoute from their website "Windows 98 (updated MFC libraries required), Windows 98 SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows 2003 Server x32, Windows XP x32, Windows XP x64 edition, Vista x32 or Vista x64 (disabled driver signature checking required)." That link you just shot at me is for version 2.03. That quote is from the most current version which is from 2.05. I am kinda confused at this one.

k, Rivatuner does NOT work in vista 64 unless you boot without driver sigs. And, I cant boost my fan in Ntune. ~frowns~. So what other options do I have?

You could try Ati tool as it does support 8800's to a certain degree but even then it doesn't really work well without disabled driver signing at boot-up, although to my knowledge this problem only arose since the Vista performance and reliability packs were released so I guess you could revert to a prior Windows installation that doesn't have these updates in order to use these programs without the need to disable driver signing, but then thats up to you- the performance and reliability really do make things snappier. Vista 64 is unfortunately lacking in the Overclocking tools.

Yea, that is becoming apparent. i canuse both tools, and OC my video card. When I tell it to restart with these settings, Ofcourse, I dont use the silly "no driver sig" boot, it will not work, and I cant really keep working in this mode. AT, I see no solution, as the Ntune has no an control, unless its automatic, the Riva and ATI tools simply dont work due do to the sig info. I am sad.

I'm pretty sure that the current version of Rivatuner has a signed driver now.

Edit: I guess not. Just use the boot-time option. It's not like it's really that inconvenient to press F8 for the 2 or 3 times a week you are likely to reboot your machine. You probably already wasted as much aggregate time complaining about having to select the option each time as you would have actually spent doing so throughout Vista's entire usable lifetime.
