Way to waterproof inkjet printable DVDRs?

Is there any known method to waterproof inkjet printable DVDRs after you've printed on them?

I've heard of spraying some kind of clearcoat on them, but there are never any detailed instructions on how to do it (i.e. what type of spray to use, how do you apply it evenly, etc).

Also I've heard of lamination, and was wondering if anyone had any insight on that.

Or if anybody knows of any other methods, that would be great.

Silly question, but how often do your DVDs come into contact with water...? 😕

I wash DVD's all the time.

Typically rentals with sticky fingerprints, but soap & water do wonders for smudged up disks.

I use Krylon clear spray (matte...the glossy looks nice, but seems to 'bubble' more...more imperfections)

I print with a epson r200, let it dry overnight, put it on a flat (important! totally flat) surface, and put a nickel on the hub so the spray doesn't go in there.

Follow the directions (12 inches away, steady motion)....I usually just do one coat.

allow to dry, and it's waterproof.

Selling burnt DVDs, eh? Spray them so that the people you sell them to won't notice they're bootleg. How nice of you. Back alley in New York?
