Way to use my Z560's without control box?

Currently RMA'ing my Z560's. Control box was messed up on it. Anyway I have a single speaker(the one with volume control and power) from a set of Logitech Z540's. Is there anway to rig it up to control the volume and power on my Z560 speakers? Anyone have any idea if there would be a way to rig this up? Was hoping to maybe find something to use untill I get my new set back.

You could use an amplifier, take the input from your PC, hook the speakers to the amp.
But you *could* damage your speaker if you don't know their ratings/impedance. And also, not possible to use the sub-woofer.

Was hoping I could maybe mod the single Z540 control speaker to work with the sub and Z560 speakers. Connectors match and hookup perfect. But I assume the pin layout is different on the Z540's.
