Is there any way to scan the front and back of a document and put it into one image (without using an imaging program after scanning front and back separately) ?

These are small documents, so they wouldn't need to be downsized in order to fit.

You can combine them in either Word or in any app that makes PDF files.
Now depending on the size of the Original and the size of your Scanner Bed
then they may both fit at once. Or you can photocopy the originals, trim to size,
then put both on the scanner bed at once.

Could also look in your scanner's manual, or some of the utilitys that came bundled.
There might be a hidden nook/cranny where your solution lies.

Most scannin software that does OCR, etc., allows for mltiple pages in one file. Omnipage Pro, for example, asks at the end of every page if you are done or not. If you scan front and back as a graphic image, graphic software can integrate them.

IrfanView (free download available from http://www.majorgeeks.com et al. if you don't already have it - I can't imagine anyone not having both IV and Picasa) makes "panoramas" - you can arrange images vertically or horizontally - two or more into one.

Irfanview is the greatest! I use it for most everything. I really don't understand why it is still free. :)
