Way to remove scratches from a windshield?

Hello all,

I'm wondering if there is a way to remove the little scratches that your average joe-blow windshield will accumulate over time.

These little dings can wreak havoc with your vision, especially when driving into the sun. The view seems to become a mass of tiny little marks all over the windshield. I heard somewhere (dealer perhaps?) that there is some sort of product available, but that is all my feeble brain managed to retain.....lol

Thanx for any info!

blah-toe............

Never seen a windshield with scratches/dings.

Rocks will either bounce off, or take a chip out. Are you talking about rock chips?

Unless someone took some 160 grit to your windshield, I'm not entirely sure what you mean. If glass is missing, you'll need a new windshield. Glass is hard to polish.

Make sure you let me know if you find something for it Blotto. I could use something on my wife's car windshield.

Think he means little scratches, look like swirl marks, but not swirls... I've got them from where my windscreen wiper has had grit or dust on it..

Ahh yea......I guess I have seen that, but usually only on really old windshields. It must be more of an environmental thing.

There is a product out there called jewlery's rouge. It's pretty much a clay bar that you rub the marks out. It's used for grinding down lenses and such. I've heard people use this stuff all the time on their windshied. You can probably get this on ebay.

"Have you considered actually replacing the windshield? They really aren't that expensive. "

lol.....where's the fun in doing that?

You could replace the window yourself, I guess.
