Way to recovery "lost" files?

Two file directories with my movies and music got corrupted. Everything else on the drive was fine. I ran chkdsk in cmd and it deleted the indexes for those files. I can't see those two directories in explorer but know they aren't deleted because I have the exact same free space as before. If they were deleted then i would have about 40 gig. Anyway to recover the indexes or get those files back since they are still on my drive? Thanks.
 
primitive, but if you have nero, you can use that explorer feature to see the hidden files. usually w/ extentions 001 and such.. maybe this helps? or you already resolved the issue.. it has been over a month.
