i've been spoiled by w/u's taking about 5 hours to do but now i've hit a major speed bump....the next w/u projected completion is 1 day and a few hours.!!! i know some w/u's are diffrent and take longer....but 1 and 1/2 days......damn...there goes my average....lol 🙂

First off, you're not running the GUI client are you?

Reboot your computer too, that helps a lot of times.

I had something like that happen. Initially SETI Driver was saying the WU would take four hours to crunch. I came back after an hour to find it 25% complete, but it was now projecting an additional eight hours to complete. :disgust:

I have a 'puter that -- P3 450@567 -- normally does about 2 WU's a day. It just completed one that took 35 hours!

It was an extremely VLAR WU. That can make a big difference.

not running the gui seti......and this is the first time i;ve run into this....like i said i usally run a w/u in about 5 hours...did reboot this mourning and still have a day and 5 hour w/u....o well will run it and should be better after...i hope

edit== now its down to about 23 hours....

If you get one with a AR of something like .001 on Win98 it can take many times normal to do it. This is a problem with Win98
and there are ways to avoid those WU's. I think SetiQ has something built in that won't send them to Win98 machines - I don't know the specifics though because I don't use it. On NT or Win 2K it does not do so bad, maybe + 10% on the time for a VLAR.

it turned out that seti reported within the first couple of hours, about 1 day 5 hours to complete the w/u....it is done now..so it only took like you said about 10% longer maybe....but i never had seti report a w/u to be completed for that long of a time before....just a fluke i guess.......everything is normal now....thanks for the help guys.....seti on 🙂
