I recently found my Sims 1 disk and thought I'd play it. While I expected the graphics to be bad, it's forced to be run in either 1024x768 or 800x600 which is just horrible with a 16:9 display. Is there a way to force it at 1080p, or at least at a widescreen ratio?

Can't recall having heard of a widescreen hack, sorry. I know the Sims 2 runs up to 1600p though.

You can set your drivers to display the video in its native aspect ratio. The procedure for this varies but I used to do it when I ran an NVIDIA card.

It won't look all stretched and nasty after you set this up.

Thanks zebrax. I found the correct hexadecimal values I have to change, but I'm not sure how to enter 1920x1080 in hexadecimal.

Edit:Never mind, I figured it out. Never knew anything about hex until this little experience.

For those interested: 1920 is entered as 8007 and 1080 is entered as 3804

Thanks again to zebrax, but I'm having trouble actually finding the actual line where i need to change the hex values. I would someone please give a step by step guide to getting through the process of changing the Sims 1 to 1080p? :)
ALSO, WOULD HAVING THE SIMS COMPLETE COLLECTION MAKE IT DIFFERENT? THIS IS THE VERSION OF THE SIMS THAT I HAVE INSTALLED?

Edit: My Computer Specifications are Intel Core i5 2500k CPU@ 3.30GHz, 8gb RAM Nvidia GTX 550Ti
