Way to decrease the size of windows

Hey everybody, whats going on, hopefully there is an answer to my question ive always been wondering about: here goes

Im using 15" Widescreen Monitor @ 1280 x 800 On my laptop.
The look and feel im trying to get is like really sleek and realllly small windows and text
Ive been trying out a few programs like stylexp, windowblinds, and a few others
to somewhat modify the "basic" windows that i have. I want them to be as small as like
a 1600 x 1200 resolution. Is there a way to force it, or does anyone know of any programs that can actually like shrink window sizes like winamps's "scaling" feature ??

Thanks,
Dennis. W

True DPI scalability independent of resolution will come with Longhorn/Vista, but for now you could experiment with changing sizes under Display Properties > Appearance > Advanced, and/or setting a lower DPI number in Display Properties > Settings > Advanced > General > DPI Setting. This may not apply to all applications, so you'll probably end up with something that looks like an evil porridge of various font sizes and overflowing textboxes.
