Okay, who's going to see who this summer, the time of Great Concerts? :D

Being in Atlanta, I just got tickets for: Fleetwood Mac, Boston, Peter Gabriel, and Heart (can you tell I'm in to classic rock lol :) ;) )

I am thinking about picking up tickets to see Aerosmith, Kiss, and Saliva. They are touring together and are stopping in Indianapolis.

I saw that tour, but didn't see a stop in Atlanta, otherwise I'd have been all over that one too :)

Wow, Boston is still touring? That would rock. Heart always put on a good show. Peter Gabriel is great. Not much of a FM fan but they do put on a good show. I am trying to swing getting out of some prior commitments to catch Jimmie Vaughan and John Mayall's blues breakers!

Unfortunately, my parents are still very anal about what music they let me listen to (despite the fact that I'm 16 already; though I manage more on my headphones, it's still a PITA), so I doubt I'll be going to any concerts this summer, let alone good ones. :(

Anyway, it sounds like you've got a good selection, Phoenix2 (especially Boston, which I like as well). :D

This reminds me of when I was a kid (long long ago). My parents were very much against me listening the "heavy metal" and would get mad at me all the time. But then they watched the Geraldo Riveira show and he had all these people (including the EVIL PMRC) saying how "Metal" was the devils music and was actually brainwashing us to server satan. They started making me keep my door open at all times, inclucing when I went to bed. It really sucked. But being the good sport I am, I played along. One morning I "mistakingly" ;) left a copy of the "satanic bible" on my bed, then that night I played some really low "devil chant music" and had another tape player playing a tape of a sheep that I recorded. I then started to say, "I SACRAFIC YOU IN THE NAME OF......." my parents ran into the room yelling STOP STOP! And just stared at me as I sat in my chair laughing my a$$ off. They were none too pleased, but I had tried to show them how they were over reacting. Later in life they used to come see me when I played guitar in a "heavy metal" band. We were then able to laugh about that story, but for quite some time they were not pleased with me. I guess now that I am a parent I can understand where they are coming from though. 85% of the music out there today I would not allow my kids to listen too. Hmm, go figure!

I'm going to see Metallica July 5th for their Summer Sanitarium tour. I'm looking forward to their new album, and hoping desparately that it doesnt suck as bad as the bands they are touring with (limp Bizkit and Linkin Park - UGH!!!). Too bad Dream Theater isn't touring this summer; I wouldn't hesitate at all to grab a ticket to one of their shows.

ROFL @ MoFunk! I like that story!

I'm going to see Less Than Jake in a couple of weeks, but other than that, I've nothing planned as of yet. I may see if I can get a few people to go to the Leeds Festival. I went to it's sister festival, Reading, that happens at the same time, last year, and that was brilliant! Other than that, nothing else I've thought of as of yet!

LOL, good story, MoFunk. :)

The only sad thing is that my dad defines Boston == heavy metal. :disgust:

I wonder what he'd do if he heard some "real stuff"? ;)

FWIW, I have a feeling that they are this way because they'be read or been around too many people that say stuff like "rock n roll is brainwashing kids to communism" (yes, I did read that somewhere; it's true that people believe BS like that).

I didn't know Boston was still together and touring either much less stopping by Atlanta. Is it sold out?

Does tickets to the U.S.A. national soccer team vs Mexico count as a concert?
The tickets were expensive! ! In Reliant Stadium, May 8th. (Texans Stadium)

GO U.S.A.! ! !

I can relate to MoFunk as well. My parents weren't quite that bad though. As i was heading out the door they'd ask if the band sacrifised any animals onstage :Q I'd just say "not that i know of!" :D

Haven't heard of any bands coming around that i'd like to see. I guess i should start looking. I don't go to concerts as much as i used to, it's beena little over 2 years since the last one :(

I was blown away that Boston is touring! They had the original 3-record deal, and had to be taken to court, I think I remember, to produce their best album, the third one, "Third Stage". That was years ago. I never ever remember them touring. Ever. They were always a studio band from what I remember, and reluctant at that. I am so looking forward to this tour! Dave, I don't think it's sold out. Would you like to go with me?

Cool! :)

I saw Peter Gabriel live at Frankfurt, Germany many years ago. Can't wait to see him here in the ATL. :)

I also saw Heart live in Germany, years ago. I'm wondering what the Wilson sisters are looking like nowadays....... I think Ann balooned up a few years ago, but Nancy always stayed pretty much in shape and HOT.... Or do I have that backwards? lol, I forget. :D

Fleetwood Mac: about 5 years ago, I was in Denver, and their "Dance" tour sold out about 30 minutes after going on sale, and I missed it then. Unfortunately, this time, it looks like Christine McVie is not with the band. I don't know why, but it will certainly be a detriment.

Wish Pink Floyd would tour again....saw them in Germany too, along with about 99,999 other folks at the massive open-air concert in Mannheim Germany. Best ever :)

That would be awesome! I think the individual band members still tour (I thought I heard something about David Gilmour doing a solo concert or something like that in this millennium), but even on that I'm not sure.

You have the correct names on the Wilson sisters :)

I am still in shock that Diana Krall is going to marry Elvis Costello :Q

Talk about the odd couple ;)

I will catch the Gypsy Kings, Peter Gabriel, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Eagles and more this summer :)

I heard that about David, too. I still wish I saw Roger Waters when he was here. I left for Europe on that day. I guess there would only be 2 bands I would see, Audioslave and Foo Fighters.

Dave Gilmour discovered Kate Bush, ya know :) Wish Kate would tour. Wish she would put out her new album, finally......!!!

If you're wondering who Kate is, you can see her on several collaborations with Peter Gabriel :)

hmm, maybe Wacken (huge metal festival), depending on the line up and if I get my driving license in time :) But its kinda expensive and I don't like camping...

@MoFunk: heh, great story. I think my parents are more... uh... "open-minded". It doesn't even matter if I play Postal 2 and they look what I'm doing. The only thing they are against is my hair... :-/

This wouldn't happen to have been in the late 80s, would it? I saw them in Mannheim, too, around 1988. I was stationed in Stuttgart at the time. :)
