Way Low bench Marks on A64 3000+ system

latest Nvidia Forceware MB drivers...
tried todays brand new Vid drivers actually slowed me down....
went back to 56.72s
not over clocked..
not underclocked

I know my vid card isnt the greatest but WTF.... this is pathetic...
I think my XP 2100 would have gotten close to these marks...

You think? Try getting that AQ3 CPU score with that 2100+.
 
K so the CPU score is ok?
its just the card dragging the whole system down?
I need to know if ya'll think that a 9k CPU score means its working fine and the huge bottle neck is a Vid card?
a vid card can make a 20k benchmark difference?
 
3DMark 2003 is almost entirely GPU dependent. There is very little change when increasing cpu speed. If you want to see a big jump, compare 3DM2001 scores, which are much more greatly affected by cpu speed with current hardware.

12000 like mine. Make sure AA/AF is off (application pref via drivers and optimal AF via 3dmark). Via 4-1 drivers installed, and AGP is enabled at 4x or 8x.

LOL! Did you get caught up in the naming scheme?
 
Ya I guess so =/ I just got the card about 2 months ago before I even thought of upgrading the entire system.. the card and the drives are the only old pieces in the box =/
when i bought this card I was wrongly lead into believing it was a 5600 Ultra.. when it fact it was a XT which really pissed me off =/

12000 2003 3D Marks score you arnt sayign the total right? is that CPU score or Vid card score or combined?

all this benchmarking is pretty new to me.. in my day it was as simple as runnign timedemo1 in quake2 =P
 
Yeah, your vid card is choking you out, the CPU score in AQ3 looks about right for a A64 3000+. Upgrade to a GT, or even a SUB $200 9800p, and your troubles are behind you 🙂

That would be my 3D 2003 mark, not 2001 SE.

Edit: Oh, no it's just the games I think. I really don't know what it is total. Never really put much importance of 3D marks when it comes to performance of my other hardware.
 
Ah so if you got 13k in 3dmark 2003 thats 11k more than mine haha ya that would make my card a super paperweight
 
K guys I need to know which card to get...
I found X800 256 pro for 399 in stock at a local comp USA
and they also have the PNY 6800 GT 256 for same price...
my board is an Nvidia and Im wondering if the Nvidia board and Card would be a better match since they are designed by same company to work together..
