Way go to BFG RMA!

Well, I RMA'd my BFG6800GT AGP and they sent me back a 6800Ultra...but PCI-express. Wow. How could they do that?

well congradulations... GeForce 6800 Ultra PCI-e is much more expensive than 6800 Ultra
AGP and 6800GT

6800 Ultra PCI-e ~ $460
6800 Ultra AGP ~ $430
6800GT AGP ~$300

Time to upgrade your motherboard? 😛
think of it as paying $80 to upgrade from 6800GT to 6800Ultra; which is twice the performance gain on games

Even though its a bit annoying, Id guess a simple mobo upgrade would be the best use of your assets currently.

Lol Craig, and Annihilator I know what you're saying.

Craig I'd be glad to, but first of all I'm a huge BFG fan, and secondly I wanna stay on this warranty - it has already saved me 300 bucks.

But I've already stole enough from BFG anyway...shh.

I called up BFG again and the guy said he'd an AGP one (I'm hoping Ultra 🙂) sent out right away. Once I get it I can just put the PCIe one back into the box and send it back.

I mean, it was nice of them to send an Ultra, but...I guess they screwed up lawlz 😛

Ultras sell around $370 in FS forum
brand new AGP 6800GT is around $300

I know. That's why I just called the guy. I'll probably receive my real card in like 2 days, which is definately faster than FS/T. But that's still 2 days away from gaming!

I can just stare at this 6800Ultra in the box, drool, and f a p!

You could have been luckier if they actually sent you a GeForce 7800 GTX 😀

Holy crap *cream cream* but what's the point, they don't even make them in AGP I don't think.

*dreams of selling new 7800GTX for twio 6800GTs + SLI mobo...creamcreamcream*

Dude! you should of just bought a new mobo agp is dying that wasnt bad luck that was a sighn from god.

Yea... i would have definently bought a new board and moved onto Pci-E. At least it would be the first step in upgrading the comp. and getting rid of AGP.

Looks like a total waste sending back a 6800ultra 🙁

Well guys, I wish I had the money for a new motherboard. Don't worry about it, the next time I upgrade my comp (~1.5 - 2 years down the road) I'm upgrading everything.

Well, it was you who broke the card if I remember correctly. You're lucky you got anything back.
