Waxes and Polishes

I'm sure this is a repost, but they come out with new products all the time so spare me.

What do you use?

I like the way nxt 2.0 looks but it only lasts a few weeks. I've used some boutique stuff (blackfire, sprays) and they're usually a pain to put on - and worse to remove them to try something else.

What's a well-known long lasting wax/polish for black cars? I'm not really so stuck on the deepest best look as much as I'd like to find something that last 2-3 months/2-3 washes without needing reapplied.

Zaino lasts quite awhile but is only available via their website so the $8.95 shipping will always apply even if you just buy one bottle. It's also layer-able for more gloss. Caranuba based waxes look best IMO but I couldn't find one that will last longer than 3 weeks in the FL heat with a black car, maybe some of the newer formulations are better. What I'm using now is Nu-finish, it's not "once a year" as the claimed but is good for 3 months or so, shine is OK and the price is cheap, available everywhere for less than $10/bottle..

I like Meguiars products. I had a black car once years ago and their products really made that car look great. I keep their paint cleaner on hand along with their show car glaze and paste wax.

Don't take your car to any car washes, wash it yourself and only use a car wash soap, do not use dish washing liquid as this strips the wax off.

I've never tried Zaino, any product that requires me to apply layer after layer after layer spending 7 hours polishing my car is not getting any of my money. Maybe if I had a Ferrari I'd change my tune but for my daily driver? No fucking way.

You don't have to apply multiple layers with Zaino, even one looks good, some people just like to go nuts and keep doing more layers, when I had it 2 seemed plenty enough..

i use ICE liquid for wax. no white residue and is very easy to apply also gives that wet look.
To remove any waxes, i use Dawn dish soap and plenty of it cause its cheap.

as far as wash it yourself, i have a pressure washer, but i always found the hot water pressure washer at the car wash does a better job. hand washing...well f*** all that for a daily driver, the environment during driving ruins the effort too quick.

Most don't last that long and NXT is one of the good ones in term of life if I remember correct. Does not shine as well as others but supposed to last longer.

Get the Nxt spray and use that to help it last longer.

I've been using Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax and really like it. No residue. I use the Ultimate Detailer Spray after ever wash and it still beads and shines great.

Natty's Carnauba from Poorboys. As long as your paint is in good condition. I just recently bought the red, its easier to use than the original, have yet to try the blue. Right now the original is on sale buy one get one free, that's a great deal.

Auto Glym, walmart used to sell it for cheap. It's now discontinued. British wax you now gotta order by mail. GREAT STUFF that is about 35-50 a container.

Yeah I used NXT and Gold Class but I didn't like how they lasted so short. I switched from liquid waxes to paste and I like it better.
