Wavemaster Noise Levels

I'm thinking of buying a coolermaster wavemaster to replace my current case - thing is, the PC is a media center PC in the living room.

At the moment the only thing I can hear is the chipset fan and the odd HD clunk, can anyone tell me about the noise levels of the fans that come with the case?

For my purposes they need to be *silent* not just quiet.

If they aren't quiet are they easy to replace?

If you need your case to be both silent and good cooling, you may want to skip the original Wavemaster even though some can be had for such good prices lately (geeks.com). They use 80mm fans in the rear at least (because of the mobo drawer). But you could open the back to 90 and use a 90-120 adapter on the outside of the case.

Look at the new Mystique instead. I know it isn't 100% aluminum, but steel is better for noise abatement anyway. And it does have 120 fan mounts f/r while some of the CM 120 fans are some of the quietest out there (partly because they don't push a lot of air). Unfortunately the Mystique has no mobo drawer. You can mostly get one or the other.

Another option is the Arctic Cooling Silentium cases. If the stuff you plan to put inside is within their capacities, they can be a great solution for both quiet and cooling. While they are significantly smaller than the CM cases. Apparently those special A-C fans are relatively susceptible to shipping damage so if you get some that are noisy, just replace them (not expensive or have A-C send new ones under warr). An excellent Seasonic PSU comes with.

The mystique looks pretty good, might try and see if I can find one in a shop to take a look at. Cheers 😉
