Wave Playback through sound card

I know this was a great feature but now i dont like it... i am running win2k and my sound card plays back more than one wav at a time so if i am playn and mp3 and someone ims i have to hear it it sux when i am recodeing to my md.. please ne one know how to limit the number of playback files
 
There should be a setting in your control panel/ system/ sound misc. that will determine the total simultaneous playback channels.

Conversely, you could try to disable ims sound when your recording or playing MP3s or even simply turn ims off.
