I?ve just gotten myself a new cell phone, an I-Mate SP5 Smartphone. It?s basically a pocket pc squeezed into a cell phone. It is the most powerful cell phone I?ve ever had.

I?m having trouble with downloading ringtones from this good site with good ringtone threads, modaco.com.

I have a problem. On modaco where there are lots of good ringtones, when I try to play or download a wav file onto my desktop, it won?t play and I get all the error messages you see below.

One BIG clue: on my desktop, when the wav file is sitting there after I downloaded it, it seems fine, but when I right single click it, and choose properties, it shows 0 bytes!! Apparently, nothing really downloaded properly, other than the name itself, right? I?m befuddled.

It's possible that it has something to do with Norton Internet Security 2003, which I've had and I always have a current "subscription" and keep it current. I tried to see how best to configure it but it seems fine...

My trouble shooting included downloading other wav files from other sites and it's just fine. Nothing unusual whatsoever.

i'm not sure the error messages below will help IF it really is a Norton Firewall issue, but want to include the error messages anyway.

Here?s the error message:

Here?s the thread at the website that has great ringtones:

My error messages are:
I single click and i get Windows Media Player to open up, and a small pop up windows says:

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." when i click More Info, i get:

" C00D1199: Cannot play the file
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. You might encounter this error message for one of the following reasons:

The file type is not supported by the Player. For a list of file types (formats) that are supported by Windows Media Player, see Supported file types.
The file type is supported by the Player, but the file was compressed by using a codec that is not supported by the Player.
The file type is supported, but you are trying to play it in a way that is not supported by the Player. For example, you might have tried to drag a DVD file with a .vob extension from a DVD to the Windows Media Player icon. Or you might have tried to open a .vob file by clicking Open on the File menu.
You are trying to play one part of a multipart file. Use a newsreader or other program to combine the files, and then try again.
