Wattage Check: 650watt Antec With 4x5770

Just wondering if you guys think:

has enough juice to power 4x5770's with the MSI 890FXA-GD70 board (Athlon X3 450).

I would guess its at or near capacity - 400 watts for the GPU's and 150watts for everything else (1 HD, CPU, a couple fans).


Any thoughts?

Normally, I'd say "No F-in way," but according to this article:

Those 5770's are supposed to draw 108 watts max at load...

I still suspect that by the time you add in motherboard power, CPU power, fans, HDD, etc., you're going to be pushing that 650 watt PSU pretty close to the maximum...IMO, you'd be better with at least 750 if not 850.

It may be enough, but I would recommend a PSU that has 4 PCIe connectors. Antec, Corsair, Seasonic & XFX would all be good choices.
