I don't know much about Watergate, but I don't think it had anything to do with Vietnam. The Democratic National Committee was bugged to monitor the campain stratagies for the next election. It just happened during the Vietnam war.

watergate was a direct result of the democrats cheating in the 1960 eletion. richard nixon died believing that he won that election, that the LBJ machine had delivered texas to the democrats and the daley machine delivered illinois to them as well. so he was damned paranoid, which led to watergate.
