Waterfox 36.0 - annoying page "flash" when changing pages

I just updated one of my PCs to Waterfox 36.0, and now while I'm browsing, I get this quick, nearly-subliminal flash when changing pages.

It's annoying enough, that I've reverted back to 35.0.

Is this some new subliminal advertising gimmick or something?

If you go into about:config and change 'browser.display.background_color' from #FFFFFF to #00000, does the flash change to black? If not, try creating a new profile with no addons/extensions and see if the behavior changes.

I'm using FF36 in Linux and haven't noticed any subliminal flash yet. I did remove the "Firefox Hello" and "Share this Page" airplane thing from the menu though.
