Waterfox 18.0.1 bugs

After upgrading both my laptop and my desktop to Waterfox 18.0.1 from 16.0.1, there seems to be a strange hitching / pausing / freezing thing going on, especially when scrolling.

At random times, the screen will just stop moving, and then a second or two later, it catches up. Very disconcerting.

I highly doubt that both my SSD in my desktop, and my HDD in my laptop, both mysteriously started to go after I installed Waterfox, so I presume it must be the software.

Um, Larry, are you running any DC GPU app on the same machine? It can cause problems like this. Firefox has been moving to use more of the GPU, as have other browsers; but other browsers seem to be better at it. 🙄

an interesting update:

waterfox 18 will not run if using winXP Pro 64bit.

I am not sure why, but it looks like a visual c++ issue.
