Waterford heavy stemless wine glass alternative?

I want these wine glasses. However, I do not want to pay $100 for two of them when the more expensive something is, the more likely it gets broken..

So.. I want an el-cheapo (up to $45 for two) alternative.. Any sites to check? I've tried Macy's, Target, Belk, Bed Bath and Beyond, etc..

I like them stemless, crystal style (not just plain glass), HEAVY, thick, and clear (none of that colored crap)..

So.. where's the winos?

Not sure why you want them HEAVY, but Riedel's O series of glasses are nice for the price. I have a collection of Riedel Sommelier stems, and they're far from heavy, but they're absolutely perfect glasses. I also have some HUGE titanium crystal glasses, but they don't the clarity of lead crystal.

Riedel "O"

when it comes to wine glass, Riedel should be the only name to think of.

anyways, Stemless wine glass kinda defeats the purpose. the heat generated from the palm will warmth the wine; unless you drink quick enough.

Not if you hold it with your fingertips like a lot of people hold normal wine glasses (at least I hold them like that).

I like them heavy because they feel good in the fingertips and they're less likely to break. Also, I like them heavy because they can double as a Cognac snifter.. I don't feel like owning a ton of different glasses..

Rube 😉

jk.

Truth be told, there's likely not a palate below Parker that can notice a discernable difference between a wine that has had someone palming it the entire time or not.

That said, I hold my stems by the upper stem. I do this for a few reasons:

1) It's a little awkward to me to hold it by the bulb.
2) It leaves fingerprints on my glass. No thanks. The O-Stems have this problem too, but you can throw them in the dishwasher. No way am I throwing my Sommeliers in the dishwasher.

Seriously, why don't you just buy a snifter then? Most of them are of a material far more substantial in weight than your average wine glass.
