Hello guys,

Reading Aigo's posts for new stickies, got me thinking about the questions noobs post regarding recommendations for water cooling components.

So, for this reason I though it might be an idea to create a thread where people can post their water cooling set ups, system spec and a pic of the inside of their case (and outside if required) showing placement of rad(s), pump, res, etc. It would also be useful to include ambient temp, CPU idle and load temps.

Noobs can then replicate set ups and get a general idea of how wc components perform.

I'll start this off.

System spec:
CPU: I7 950 at 3.2GHz
MB: GA-EX58-Extreme with Hybrid air cooler
RAM: 6x 2GB Corsair XMS3 1600MHz RAM 9-9-9-24 with Corsair RAM cooler
GPUs: 2x HD 4870 X2s
HDDs: 1.5TB Seagate HDD and 60GB OCZ Vertex SSD
Case: Lian li PC-A70A with Chilled PC 120.3 rad grill and 4x replacement Yate Loon D12SH-12 fans with 120mm chrome wire fan grills
Idle temps: 40C. Ambient temp: 25C. Load temp: 54C

WC spec:
Rad: Swiftech MCR320 with 6x Yate Loon D12SH-12 fans in push-pull config.
CPU block: EK Supreme with Chilled PC back plate and Arctic Silver 5 TIM
Pump: MCP355 with XSPC res/top
Barbs: EK G1/4 1/2" OD
Tubing: XSPC 7/16" ID - 5/8" OD Blue/UV Blue tubing
T-line with ball valve and fill port (Danger Den)
Alphacool flow meter
Chilled PC in line temp probe
M Cubed T balancer and analogue extension set.

Thanks, Woodbutcher.

Would it be possible to add your system specs to this thread? I know your wc set up is highly modded and I'm interested to know what you used.

Aigo, what parts did you use for your two rigs and how did Nadeshiko perform?

Nadeshiko is classified.
And no i dont mean just the board. :p

Cant reveal the cpu yet, but 12gb ddr3 E759 classy on a MM platform.
I will probably do a work log on it soon.

Miyuki is my all purpose torture rack.

Aah, okay. Must be Gulftown then :D

What about the watercooling side of things - what parts did you use?

Hey Aigo,
Do those MCP355 pumps need a heatsink like it looks like you have? I have one and mine does run hot but I didn't think it needed a heatsink.

Those aren't 355's, they're DDC-2's as they have red impellers rather than blue.

There DDC-2's and yes they ran hot until i got custom sinks for them.

Ahh welcome to the forum. Seems like you know your stuff! :)

I'll make a build log soon. :p
There's too many parts to list out.

ahhh ur running an F paralell.
Hows that holding?

Do you have GPU load screen shots?
I always wanted to try that route, but never had the time to implement it.

Sure, maybe this weekend I'll post up a pic or two but I'll need to resize the pics first. As you can see we need some rules or an auto resize.

My last build though was simply an upgraded nightstand, still the Q6600 and and 8800GT w/ dual loops, 355's w/petras' tops but I changed out the rads for the XSPC triples. I bought two when they came out with the thicker model and rushed the paint.
I posted other builds / links in the gallery, When I get to it I can link to them too.

One CPU FAH instance running.
Two GPU FAH instances running.

Maybe not the absolute highest temps, but it's what it runs 24/7.
occt.jpg

It got up to 71C on the CPU with the OCCT CPU test with GPU fah's running.

I wanted to see your delta spread from gpu 1 and gpu 2.

But 2C spread is very nice.

I might try that setup when i rebuild my gpu sector.

The theory and math behind it is sound. :)

Huh? They're both at 42C when running GPU FAH so wouldn't that be 0C?

The GTX280 and GTX275's have a 1-3C delta when at load when running GPU FAH, although it's not an entirely parallel loop.
