Watercooling Questions

Like many people, i recently built an Athlon 4 setup, 1.3Ghz and lots of DDR ram. My equipment was purchased with overclocking in mind. Now that i have an unlocked processor and the best MB for overclocking, At stock settings, i cant get my temps below 55c degrees when at idle. Im using a Delta fan and large HS, plus, I have 3 fans in the case. I have also found that the noise from the fans is almost unbearable.
Ahhhhh the price for speed? I havent even been able to explore the overclocking potential of these new (and expensive) toys that i have assebled.

I know that these temps are fine, and my system is stable, however, if i ever hope to overclock, i need a more agressive solution for cooling.
Thus, I am asking any of you if you have some experience in watercooling and/or peltier setups which might help me. Im not at expert in this area, but im patient and follow directions perfectly.
I just dont want to risk damaging my investment with moisture/leaks/condensation etc

Are the latest kits becoming more logical alternatives?

Thanks for any advice!

I hear the best waterblock is the latest maze from dangerden.com.. It also comes with a plate for a pelt i think.

The rest is pretty much whatever you want.

kits are ok.... but i think it's better to customize w/ your own setup.

For me, i'm making this kit right now:

3' Bong cooler w/ a resevoir holding a few gallons (for the night)... temp gauge, hopefully flow gauge
Reinforced (braided) tubing
Maze-2
MagDrive 700? dunno bout this one yet... 700gph
Valve to tweak waterflow
Some sorta showerhead.
Mabye some filters, pads, etc for noise/evaporation/better cooling?
Radio Shack Relay Switch

The dangerden kits are nice. The kits arent perfect, but the good thing is you know everything works.

Danger Den Maze 2, a Cooling Cube, heater core or bong cooler with a hefty Danner or Eheim pump. If we are permitted to mention other forums, overclockers.com has some very savvy watercooled folks.

Unless you live in the Sahara desert with high ambient temps, 55C at idle tells me your HS is not making proper contact with the CPU die.

tom's hardware guide recently posted a really good article on watercooling. you don't need to buy the stuff online; you can get all the parts you need at local hardware/pet/electronics stores. let me know how it turns out, i want to watercool my dual celeron 366 setup. ;)
