Watercooling question ?

I was wondering what happens with watercooled cases when the OS is in standby or suspend mode? Is the H2O pump working until the whole system is shut down?
Some mobos have in their specs that they stop the CPU fan, etc.

I'm setting up system which would be 24/7 on (mostly in standby / suspend mode) and woken up by ring or lan. I'm particularly interested to know about Koolance cases, so guys still owning one, could you check what this case does while in standby/suspend mode?

Thx, LEO_

With the recent problems with Koolance I would stay away from them. You are better off buying your own parts and putting it together. It's not too much work.

My guess is you're going to leave the pump on 24/7 (they're made for that). And well, pumps that are powered by 12vDC are not reliable so you're going to get a standard pump that connects to an outlet, and that will stay on.

If however you WANT it to shut off (I don't recommend it). Then you can always wire it to the leads coming into the power supply so that if your computer shuts off then the pump will too, though I don't think it would work with a standby/suspended mode.

I personally love the sound of the water going through my system when it's off 🙂. Wish I could hear it better if it weren't for my stupid loud SCSI drive.
