Watercooled bong/case

I'm thinking about doing some serious modding, and somehow make a bong out of the case, and somehow cool the computer at the same time as the smoke.

I wonder if I could rig something software controlled. to where all I have to do, is have my weed in it, and just press a button assigned to a software control, and just start smoking (automatically heats up the stash)

I just thought it would be freaking cool if I had a little tube/tubes sticking out like a hooka, and to be able to do this. What would be great is, if I could put a ounce in there, and it will automatically put new stash in there without having to do it. Just clean out the bowl when you change out the pot.

Still, seems like an interesting idea. Of course, if you ever get busted they'll confiscate your computer as drug paraphernalia.

I've done "Home Control" with X10 devices and computer interfaces using Windows-compatible software. But this idea . . . is so far "out there" . . . . it would only seem more sensible in the context of hard-core gaming and virtual reality. Then, I can say "I understand. In fact, it really, really makes sense."

In my day, we would just put a "Jefferson Airplane" album on the stereo, grab the chocolate ice-cream from the freezer and start consuming those "special brownies" we made an hour earlier.

As to Nancy Reagan: One wonders, really, about what avenue of activities shows more presence of mind -- absorbing some mildly mind-altering substances to make you feel funny, or conducting a seance for the President to obtain paranormal advice on using the red "Doomsday" phone. Choosing between those scenarios according to which seems more harmless is easy. It's the "presence of mind" question that really stymies my progress toward a profound conclusion.

And there have been many times when I felt I had "greater presence of mind" in an herbally altered state, not much different in an analog comparison to "over-clocking".

But OC'ing your computer won't get you detained at the Turkish airport as a "Midnight Express" victim, either. If you burn up your CPU, you are simply "f[blank]ed." The Turkish airport leads to getting "f[blank]ed in the [blank]", or so the movie and the real story behind it would have you believe.

J/K, but this is really cool idea. I don't think you could actually mix the w/c stuff with smoke to make a functioning bong, but in theory, it's doable.

I don't understand. Not to be mean, but do you actually know what a "bong" aka evaporative cooler is? It has nothing to do with weed... it's just a slang term. There's no way that it would produce enough heat to ignite anything.

Well, take the originator of the thread at face value -- he was actually trying to imagine how to automate his herb delivery system.

So -- yeah -- we were just playing along.

As to the serious side. I see many of these cooling projects. A simpler water-cooling idea someone came up with involved burying a reservoir deep in the ground, running the hoses to the house, and connecting to his computer pump, radiator and water-block.

So far, I've stuck with lo-tech enhancements to air-cooling, with satisfactory results. It would appear that the evaporative cooler idea is not too different than the evaporative cooler my father built as an alternative to air-conditioning our home in the late 1950s.
