Water valve question (see pic)

My Frigidaire refrigerator started leaking some water in the rear and it's the water inlet valve. I have the new part which is similar to the pic below but has 4 water couplings for 4 water tubes. My question has to do with the small plastic free-spinning riser (what the arrows are pointing at) just below the white coupler as seen in the pic. Is this supposed to be removed before inserting the water tube? I've never seen these before and the instructions don't mention it at all nor do the few videos I've watched. When my icemaker requested water for ice-making, the green line started leaking, but my water dispenser line does not leak even though I've left the risers (if that's what it is) on for all 4 tubes. The tubes go in, but are the risers supposed to be on too? It's hard to feel any of them bottoming out.

Secondary question, does anyone know what the 4 tubes are for? I can only see brown is the water-in, a green is for the ice maker, and there's yellow and clear for which I have no idea (one is the water dispenser).

I can't definitively answer, but I've used a similar coupling before. For mine, the clip (the black plastic piece in your pic) needed to be removed to insert the tube (push down on the white part to insert the tube), then put back in place to lock it.

No idea on the 4 tubes. Hopefully the part you are replacing is identical and you can just mimic the existing connections.

Thanks, I removed it and pushed it further in, but someone said it should go in regardless. I think it went further in this time so I'm testing again.

Hard to say what the fourth tube is for. I was thinking there could be a line to the filter, however you'd need a fifth line, and more than likely the filter is prior to this valve anyways. You don't by chance have one of the fridges that has an internal pitcher / water dispenser as well as the external one do you?

Have you tried looking up a schematic for your specific model of fridge? Usually the schematics can show you where the various lines go.
