A friend of mine has an older computer and has a wireless keyword hooked up to it, the other day he spilled water on the wireless keyboard, it screwed things up.. it will start typing a bunch of odd charcters and start beeping, the computer then freezes and has to be rebooted. He went out and bought a new keyboard but the same thing is still happening. Is it possible that he damaged the port on the computer that the wireless device was hooked up to?

Did he purchase another wireless keyboard? Have you tried working with a wired keyboard since the accident?

I can't see how spilling water on a keyboard could possibly affect the motherboard - I don't think that the voltage involved would be enough to do any harm. If he replaced the wireless keyboard with another model/type it may just be a driver problem

something else must've happened. It wasn't because he messed up the wireless keyboard that caused the errors. Is there any more information you can provide on what else may have happened to the computer while this accident occured?
