Same here in Orlando.

The lake behind me is at the highest level I have ever seen. Haven't seen the sun in a week I think. What happened to the Sunshine state??

Yes, casual water is a free drop at the nearest point of total relief no nearer the hole. However a course with that much water on it will not be open for play, so it really doesn't matter.

We had a moderate 5' flood or so at a local golf course. The damage put the country club out of business.

Seriously. So much waste. I guess that is why it is such an elitist game though.

Just because you don't enjoy it doesn't necessarily make it elitist. Are there elitist courses out there? Yeah, but thousands of more that completely are not. You should probably know what you're talking about before you type and make generalizations.

are there gators there ?

Yes, in fact displaced critters of all types are showing up, "22 of rain shoves them out of their habitat looking for dry ground.

The course I took the pic of is hardly elitist, it's a municipal course owned by the city where the price averages $20 a round, you can walk it too if you want, no need to ride a cart. This is a working mans course where Joe-six-pack's like myself play..
