What's the deal with this new sports bottles of water, sodium free.
So does Water have Sodium and is that good or bad for us? i mean Water is Water right.

Whats the difference between poland springs and Gatorade sports water.

most water isn't "pure" water, it has some other junk in it

"pure" water, like distilled water isn't necessarily good for you (if that was all you drank)

i would guess it is a marketing gimmick to trick people into buying it

It is my belief that Gatorade is more engineered with more minerals to replenish your thirst. I think sodium gets people thirstier. Anybody with more light to shed on this peice of **** thread would be very appreciated. Thanks.

What about Sodium, is there Sodium always in water, is that good or bad or just a way to make people think they are buying better water bottle.

Pure water has nothing in it but H2O.

Obviously, it is very difficult to have truely pure H2O. Distilled water is about as close as you can get, it should have 0 - 10PPM of dissolved solids in it.

"Normal" water has a myriad of dissolved minerals in it; calcium, magnesium, copper, lead(mmm.. lead), sodium.. etc, etc. It just depends on where the water comes from.

I still want to know what does Sidium mean in water. even on the poland spring website has a extra statement about sodium
"*Sodium Free: The US Food and Drug Administration defines sodium-free as less than 5 milligrams of sodium per 8 ounce serving"

poland springs has 2.1

It means that the water contains dissolved sodium. That's all it means.

You know what sodium is, right? It is a salt.

Common table salt is sodium chloride.

If you took that 8oz of water and boiled all the water away, you would be left with 2.1mg of sodium in the bottom of the pan.. along with whatever other minerals were dissolved in the water.
