well in future im aiming to get a xaser5 series case like this and my next rig will have water cooling, and since i have my current computer has the pannel off, will i need the pannel off with a water setup? becuase that really defeats the purpose of having a nice case like this one (i want to stare in at my window and see the flashing colours). so can you get self contained water cooling setups where you dont need the pannel off and tubes going in externally?

Remember shady06, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. ;)

Personally, I like something cleaner and simpler in cases. But I do have a desktop case that I'm planning to attack with some black marble contact paper & blue LEDs. :D

Hmm... Back on topic :)

The answer is yes, you can get self contained water cooling units. Swiftech have some great products to achieve this - their 12V pump is amongst the best around, as are their water blocks. However I'd probably look towards a better radiator than what they offer. The Black Ice Micro would fit in that case and probably serve you well enough.

You can fit a custom water cooling kit in there for sure. I had an antec 1030 series case with a custom dangerden setup, 1250 ehiem, super heater core, 1/2 inch, gpu and cpu blocks and it worked wonders. I mounted the radiator to the top of the case in the front using up 3 of the 4 5.25 inch bays and the pump in the bottom front, removing the lower hard drive cage. Be creative, setting up the water cooling system and installing it is half the fun imo.

have a look at this, if not for the case, than for modding possibilities with your one.

noting the above post aswell, had a quick thought might work quite well to have the radiator exhausting out the top of the case like the review, while being supplied by fresh air from some sort of customised fan job in the 5 1/4" bays... would need to customise the xasier door to get the fan some air to it. A second thought maybe better just to have a vent in the side door, just below the radiator.

btw is it easy enough to set up water cooling so it comes on with your pc? or do you have to turn on the water then the pc?

"Turning on" water cooling, is simply a matter of starting the pump (and fans for radiator). With 12V pumps they'll start once they get power from a molex connector. Hence they'll start when the computer starts.
