I hardly ever see pics where people have mounted a radiator vertically, or where they've mounted it in the bottom of a case(with a cutout at the bottom, and decent length legs so there is enough airflow).

Are there specific reasons not to do this? I'm asking because of the two positions I'd like to put a radiator in my case, one is vertical near the front, and the other is horizontal at the very bottom.

I work with some very large computers that 'breath' through the bottom already.

No problems at all as long as your case can expel or intake air from the bottom. As long as there's a large enough gap between the bottom of the case and the floor (or whatever is underneath the computer) there should be no problem at all.
