I am purchasing a duo core 2.67 conroe with two BFG 7950 vid cards, in an ASUS P5N32 SE SLI DX mobo. I was thinking of water cooling this system because of expected heat issues. Has anyone had any luck with water cooling? and what type of water system would you suggest?

What have you been reading? Conroe is a 65nm chip. Prescotts are hotter. 7950s need some airflow, but you won't need water. Not that there is any solution to put 7950s on water anyway.

Get a decent case and some good 120mm fans and be done with it.

You don't need water unless you want complete silence (which even then is difficult and highly expensive), or to overclock like a madman.

I was thinking heat...forgot that the conroe was 65nm, I am use to everything running hot so I assumed....thanks for correcting that. I am worried a tad about noise though which brings me to my next question;

SILENCE: Would the fanless solution that TT has be sufficient for this system. I was looking at the VA8003BWS. Here is the link to the product; ThermalTake

have you ever water cooled before? i would suggest you not buy a premade set up and later find that you got ripped off.

i made a basic how to when i water cooled one of my comps to give an idea of whats involved with it.

If you are seriously interested in water cooling, and doing it right, then the absolute best thing you can do is start reading the Xtreme Systems Liquid Cooling section. Do your homework, then ask questions. If you still want a pre-configured kit, look at Petra's offerings.

I just built by first water system and I love it. Take a look at the forums, and feel free to PM me. I'm a noob at water, but I'll help if I can.;)

Edit: I was just reading this back, and was thinking I sounded harsh. Wasn't trying to imply that you hadn't done any homework yet.:)
