Ok so, I am new to OC'ing and I've had an H70 in my rig for the past few months and I just feel like I could be doing so much better.

This is my cooling fan setup based on recommendations I've seen over @ the corsair forums, so don't flame me too much if this seems odd lol.

This is sitting on the desktop with only FF open.

Which temp is more accurate? The CPU temp at the top or the individual core temps? In either case, does this not seem high to anyone?

I also show that my GTX 470 in CPUID shows idle temp @ 55 degrees. Again does this not seem warm/hot for idle?

I also have the machine in my bedroom and during the day I can keep my bedroom door open and cool air from the house comes in, keeping the room itself at a reasonable temp. However, at night I have to shut my door due to noise concerns and my room gets freaking insanely hot! When I have a travel clock with a temp reading on it, it showed my room to be 92 degrees F!

I'm obviously looking for suggestions as to how I can better cool this thing down and wouldn't be opposed to actually diving into a full WC setup like the one mentioned here:

Those fans are way overkill for that silly little cooler. The H70 is a great cooler if you're tight on space, but it's not the best for actual cooling performance or low noise.

I'm willing to bet that the H70 with those monstrous 5500 RPM fans is going to perform no better than a Noctua NH-D14 or Thermalright Silver Arrow with 1850 RPM Gentle Typhoons.

The H70 with 2x1980RPM fans can't match the Silver Arrow with 2x1270 RPM fans. And the NH-D14 and Silver Arrow are AIR coolers!

So, if you want a cooling setup that will actually perform well for the ~$150-160 you'll spend on the H70 and those 2 vacuum-cleaner fans, then do yourself a favor and get an XSPC Rasa 750 RS240 setup for the same money. Not only will you save a little money, but it'll be much quieter, perform much better and be more versatile as far as upgrades go (in case you want to add a second loop for a GPU).

Your ears will thank you. You might say you don't care about noise, but 5500 RPM fans are no joke...they literally sound like a vacuum cleaner running right next to your desk.

Heck, if you want spend $150-160, get the even better performing RX240 kit with the thicker radiator...

Would that setup work to bring down the temps of my machine? Overall room temp? Would the reservoir fit in my drive bays ok?

Anyway, noob questions I know, I'm just hoping someone could help me with an answer or two! Thanks guys and/or gals!

Your ambients are the problem no matter what you do "92...F": h20, different fan configs, etc. Get an AC unit in your room. I have the same case btw

Hmm wouldn't the intake fan on the left side be a bad choice depending on your video card and case placement? For example, my case is fairly close to a wall and I have a blower-style video card. That means the card is pushing hot air out and it should end up traveling upward fairly close to the case (since the wall is right there). The intake fan would end up just pulling the hot air back in.

Also, is it better to designate the left H70 intake as hot air since it will be passing through the radiator?
