I've got mine set up as -

Resevoir -> pump -> rad -> CPU block -> back to res.

Meaning I've got a lot of hot water going through my loop, is this safe?

It's fine. Order of components usually makes very little difference in temps. My system goes:

pump > CPU > GPU > chipset > radiator > res > pump

Best way (IMHO) is res>pump>CPU>other heat sources>radiator>res. As long as you are getting the heat moved away, is all that matters though.

I use a header on the pump outlet so each block has it's own water supply, and 3 inlets on my res.

your setup is exactly like mine

res> pump>rad>cpu>gpu>res

the water will reach steady state after a while so order doesn't really matter exept for having the res physically above and just before the pump............................
