Motor oil? .... I don't think so.. I'm pretty sure motor oil will be conductive, at least a little.. and that will cause problems. Just one little electron going to the wrong place will cause a crash. 😉

You can do it with mineral oil, though. But the problem is circulating the oil so it doesen't become locally hot, since it isn't a very good conductor of heat.
 
I believe it's possible with pure water too, though the computer would need to be totally clean.

I was considering buying some fluoroinert from 3M for this. My parents were convinced it was for a drug lab. 😕🙂

the chemicals and metals might leech into the water and cause problems
